BALLYMENA United travel to Solitude to face Newington in the 1st round of this season's Toals Co Antrim Shield on Tuesday evening.
The last meeting between the sides was in August 2019, United running out 3-0 winners in the second round of the BetMcLean League Cup thanks to second half goals from Ross Lavery, Andrew McGrory and Cathair Friel.

Newington were promoted from the Lough 41 Premier Intermediate League to the Lough 41 Championship, finishing 7 points clear of Bangor to secure immediate promotion.

Their opening game seen them beat Dergview 4-1 at home, before drawing away to Ballinamallard and Institute at home. They've also lost 1-0 away to Knockbreda and, on Saturday past, suffered a 4-1 home defeat to joint league leaders Annagh United.
Ballymena United:
United opened their season with a 2-2 draw at home to Glenavon, going on to beat Dungannon Swifts 2-0 at Stangmore Park, and have lost their last 3 games on the trot in Cliftonville, Larne and Linfield.

This leaves United in 9th spot, a point behind Glenavon and a point ahead of newly promoted Newry City.
Admission of £10 for adults and £5 concessions/kids is payable at the gate, and Ballymena United fans will be in the usual away stand at Solitude.
