BALLYMENA United travel to Portstewart on Saturday afternoon for their first pre-season game of the 2022/23 season.
United faced Portstewart in the 2nd round of the Samuel Gelston's Whiskey Irish Cup, defeating them 3-0 at the Showgrounds with goals coming from Ryan Waide, Paul McElroy and Michael Place.
Portstewart:
Last season Portstewart finished 7th of 11 in the Lough 41 Premier Intermediate League, winning 9 games, drawing 3 and losing 12. They were left with a total of 32 points, level on goal difference with Lisburn Distillery but ahead on goals scored.
Ballymena United:
The Sky Blues managed an eighth placed season, with 16 wins, 5 draws and 17 defeats, leaving them on 53 points, a single point behind Glenavon in the race for the European play-off spot.

They were knocked out of the Toals Co Antrim Shield by Larne in the quarter-finals, losing to Cliftonville in the semi-final of the BetMcLean League Cup, but made it to the final of the Samuel Gelston's Whiskey Irish Cup, which they lost to Crusaders after extra-time.
