Injury Update

THE Boss provided a squad update ahead of our BetMcLean League Cup tie away to Annagh United on Tuesday night.
"Sometimes if you don't have bad luck then you've no luck at all, and again we're facing some challenge to our luck already this season.
Josh Kelly on Friday evening went over on his foot in an innocuous tackle, with an X-ray on Saturday confirming our worst fears of a broken bone in his foot. His recovery from the break alone will be at least 6-8 weeks before it heals, maybe three months in total before we can realistically see him back in action.
That news came at the same time as following a scan on David Parkhouse, also injured during a tackle, this time at Warrenpoint, has resulted in him fracturing his knee and sustaining ligament damage.
It is wholly unfortunate when putting together a squad, and the investment we made in both players - David coming in new and Josh who has very quickly established his place in midfield - it is difficult for us and the players to face these setbacks so early in the season. But, as we always say, injury to one gives opportunity to others and so we step up as a group, we continue to work hard together and hopefully both men will be back soon.
On a more positive note, it is very pleasing to report that Steven McCullough (foot), Andrew McGrory (foot) and Scot Whiteside (cruciate) are all making excellent progress and we hope to see them back and challenging for a first team place in the not too distant future."
