GOALKEEPER Dwayne Nelson has become the latest player to rejoin the Sky Blues in Roy Walker's revolution at the Braid.

The Magherafelt born shot-stopper began his senior career at the Showgrounds after being signed from Moyola Park by Kenny Shiels in August 2001. Aged 16 he made a surprise debut as a replacement for the injured Tommy Wright in a First Division win over Larne in September 2001.

A regular in the Northern Ireland youth teams, Dwayne was to spend three seasons at Warden Street making 43 appearances for United before leaving the club in 2003 after the arrival of Robert Robinson, he joined derby rivals Coleraine in August 2003 where he spent only one season after limited opportunities behind Davy O'Hare.

Another short spell at Limavady United followed before finally settling at Dungannon Swifts in 2006 when the Tyrone club qualified for the Setanta Cup and also were beaten finalists in the 2007 Irish Cup final - losing on penalties to Linfield.

After losing his place to Alvin Rouse at Stangmore Park last season, Dwayne went on the transfer-list and will compete with Sean O'Neill for the number one spot at Ballymena again.
