AT the start of last season Lee Colligan was still a virtual unknown around the Showgrounds but by May he had swept the board at the end-of-season prize-givings.

Colligan, a Carrickfergus native, was a product of the Greenisland Boys Club before joining Linfield at the age of 16 in September 2005. However after only a year at Windsor Park, Lee took the decision to move to Ballymena United and was a key part of the club's Reserve League Championship winning side in his first season at club.

His good form for the Reserves was rewarded by manager Tommy Wright who handed him a first-team debut in February 2008 against his former club, Linfield. Lee managed to stay in and around the first-team for the remainder of the 2007/2008 season.

He had to wait until October the following season to regain his chance as new manager Roy Walker gave him his first-team debut again against Linfield in a 2-0 win. Lee never looked back and cemented his place in the first-team with some very assured performances at left-back.

As well as many of his club honours, including the Seven Towers' First Team player of the Year, during his first full season, he also was called up to the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad last year.
