GOALKEEPER KERR RELEASED
(Monday, 16th January, 2012)

BALLYMENA United have parted company with goalkeeper Aaron Kerr by mutual consent.

Following Saturday's game against Lisburn Distillery, manager Glenn Ferguson met with the 29-year-old shot stopper and an agreement was made to part ways following an injury plagued six months at the Showgrounds.

Formerly with Wolves, Walsall and Crusaders amongst a host of other clubs - Aaron signed from Championship side Ards in the summer for his third spell at the Showgrounds (the first being in 1999 before he left for England the latter a loan spell in 2009) but only made four appearances in August before being sidelined with a knee problem.

The departure leaves Glenn Ferguson with two senior goalkeepers in Wayne Drummond and Dwayne Nelson and three youth team goalkeepers; Chris Bradley, McCauley Cairns and Lee McGavock.

Aaron becomes the fifth player the leave the club since the departure of Roy Walker, following Aaron Boyd (Coleraine), Eamonn Murray (Glentoran), Liam Watson (released) and Michael Smith (Newington YC).
