JIM GRATTAN STEPS DOWN
(Friday, 18th June, 2010)

ASSISTANT manager Jim Grattan has resigned from his post at the club and has been replaced by Wesley Gregg.

Gregg spent time with the Ballymena United towards the end of last season and is currently involved with the IFA Grassroots Programme having previously worked as an assistant at Irish League level with his cousin John Gregg at Institute.

Walker was pleased to find such a high quality replacement for the departing Grattan; "I've been working closely with Wesley throughout my UEFA Pro Licence course and he's impressed me with his organisation and new ideas."

"I would like to thank Jim for all his efforts for all his efforts during my time at the club, and I hope we can still be able to work with Jim in some capacity."

Former Linfield midfielder, Grattan, joined the Sky Blues in 2005 as assistant manager to new boss Tommy Wright. Following Wright's departure in 2008, Grattan was offered the post of first-team manager and although he accepted he embarassingly was forced to resign only days later following a conflict with his employers at the IFA.

He continued his previous role under his replacement Roy Walker, but is stepping down after five years due to others commitments.

Reserve Team Manager Colin Sewell has also been promoted to the coaching staff of the first team. Sewell has also previously been manager of the club's Youth team which won the Harry Cavan IFA Youth Cup for the first time in 2009.

Manager Roy Walker is now actively looking for a new Reserve Team manager with the sufficient qualifications.
