JACKIE HONOURED BY THE QUEEN
(Sunday, 13th June, 2010)

ONE of Ballymena's best known faces (and voices) was honoured in the Queen's Birthday Honours for services to broadcasting.

Jackie Fullerton a life-long Ballymena United supporter and former United player is to be awarded an MBE at Buckingham Palace in the near future and never one to be lost for words Jackie is said to be 'stunned'.

He will be familiar to many younger supporters as the voice of Northern Irish football through his work with the BBC, but he was also a lively Irish League striker in the late 1960's and 1970's playing for Cliftonville, Crusaders and Derry City alongside his beloved Sky Blues.

Ballymena United would like to congratulate Jackie on this prestigous accolade.
