MIXED NEWS FOR UNITED WINGERS
(Friday, 15th January, 2010)

THERE was mixed news for two of United's wingers as David Cushley signed a contract extension as Ormon Okunaiya suffers horrific leg break.

20-year-old Cushley, who's contract expired last week - has signed an extension until the end of the current season despite press speculation that he would be leaving the Showgrounds in the January transfer window.

Since making his debut in October 2006 'Cush' has made 68 appearances for the club scoring 11 goals (five of which have been this season, in what marks a season best already).

However, on the same evening it was a completely different story for Ormo Okunaiya. The popular winger suffered a double-break of his leg - breaking both the tibula and fibula during a challenge in training. He was due to undergo an operation this afternoon at Belfast Royal Hospital.

Signed from Carrick Rangers in the summer, Ormo has made 18 appearances in his first season at the Showgrounds after previously being on the books of Larne, Glenavon and Dungannon Swifts.

The club would like to send Ormo their collective best wishes and hopefully a speedy recovery from this injury.
