UNITED SIGN STRIKER McLAUGHLIN
(Wednesday, 25th November, 2009)

BALLYMENA United have signed striker James McLaughlin from former Intermediate League side Mosside.

Following the recent demise of the Ballymoney based side which played their football in the Ballymena and Provincial Intermediate Premier Division, United manager quickly sought to sign up their leading goalscorer James McLaughlin.

The Coleraine based striker has already plundered 22 goals this season and has scored an impressive 60 goals in the last season and a half for Mosside.

Previously on the books of Linfield, James has been part of the County Londonderry setup at the Milk Cup and had trials with Glasgow Rangers amongst others in the past.

James made his debut for Colin Sewell's Reserve side two weeks ago but will not be able to feature in the first team until January, but manager Roy Walker is hopeful the young striker will provide stiff competition for the rest of the forwards at the club.
