UNITED MAKE DOUBLE SIGNING
(Wednesday, 12th August, 2009)

BALLYMENA United have completed the double signing of goalkeeper Dwayne Nelson and winger George Stewart.

Nelson has rejoined the club from Dungannon Swifts, having started his career at Warden Street back in 2001 where he made 43 appearances in three seasons at the club. Manager Roy Walker has brought the experienced goalkeeper in as cover for Sean O’Neill.

19-year-old George Stewart has signed a 28-day trial contract with the Sky Blues as the manager takes a closer look over the winger signed from Wrexham. George is the son of former Northern Ireland international, Ian Stewart.

Both players made their debuts in Tuesday night’s County Antrim Shield win over Harland & Wolff Welders.
