PRE-SEASON TRAINING BEGINS

BALLYMENA United's players and staff reported back for pre-season training on Tuesday night ahead of the new IFA Premiership season.

Roy Walker took a large panel of over 40 players in their first session of the summer; containing a number of first team and reserve team players, new signings and a number of trailists.

New signings Philip Carson, Noel Anderson, Gavin Taggart and Darren Lockhart were unveiled and met their new team-mates for the first time. However United's other summer signing, Mark Surgenor, is still away at the World Student Games represnting the Irish Universities in Serbia.

Walker will also run his eye over a number of trialists this summer, including former Dundela defender Kyle Alexander and former Larne and Glenavon winger Orman Okanaiya - along with a number of goalkeepers to provide backup for Sean O'Neill.
