CAPTAIN PENS THREE YEAR DEAL
(Friday, 15th May, 2009)

BALLYMENA United are pleased to announce that club captain Gary Haveron has committed himself to the club for a further three years.

The likeable Larne based player last night signed a new year contract at the Ballymena Showgrounds which will take him up until the end of the 2011/2012 season at the club.

Haveron was one of Tommy Wright's first signings in May 2005, and has just completed his fourth season at the Braid; accumulating 136 appearances and scoring 10 goals in the Sky Blue of United and in August last year he was appointed club captain.

Formerly with Bolton Wanderers, Wolves, Lisburn Distillery and Coleraine - Gary suffered a broken leg at Bangor last Christmas but typical of his character, he fought back miraclously within four months to help Roy Walker's side during the run in.

This will be welcome news to the Ballymena United faithful as Roy Walker attempts to rebuild his team ahead of the forthcoming IFA Premiership campaign.
