NEIL TEGGART SIGNS
(Tuesday, 3rd June, 2008)

ROY Walker has made his first signing as Ballymena United manager in former Sunderland striker, Neil Teggart.

The 24-year-old striker was unveiled at a press conference at the Ballymena Showgrounds on Tuesday evening, after signing a one-year contract with the Sky Blues.

The Ardglass forward began his career at Sunderland and had loan spells at Darlington and Scunthorpe United before moving to Perth Glory in the Austrialian 'A-League'.

He returned to the UK with Livingston and then Hamilton Accies last season, but spent last term stuck at Amateur League side Kilmore Rec. unable to sign for a senior Irish League side under the 'three club' ruling.

"I'm champing at the bit to get started at Ballymena," the 23-year-old told a press conference at the Showgrounds.

"I've been really impressed with the facilities. I've known Jim for years through the international set-ups and I spoke to Roy and Jim last week and was impressed with what they had to say and that's why I came here.

"They have given me the confidence to get playing again and hopefully I can progress."
