APPEARANCE AWARD FOR TRIO
(Tuesday, 15th April, 2008)

THREE Ballymena United players were presented with awards to mark appearance landmarks before Saturday's win over Coleraine.

United chairman Robert Cupples (seen above) presented Albert Watson (200 games), Gary Haveron (100 games) and Kevin Kelbie (100 games) their awards.

United captain Albert Watson clocked up his 200th appearance in a sky blue shirt in the defeat to Cliftonville at Solitude in January.

The 200 game landmark is equally impressive given that Watson is still only 22-years-old; United fans will also be looking forward to many more after the skipper turned down the advances of Linfield to sign a new two-year contract at the Braid.

Gary Haveron clocked up his centenary appearance against Crusaders in the dramatic 2-2 draw also back in January.

The ever dependable Haveron, was manager Tommy Wright's first signing in May 2005 from local rivals Coleraine. He also has ten goals to his name for the Skies.

Scottish striker Kevin Kelbie completed the trio after most recently breaking the 100-game barrier against Larne at Inver Park. His exceptional scoring record has seen him bag 47 goals in that time, almost a goal every other game.
