DAVITT WALSH INJURY UPDATE
(Sunday, 9th December, 2007)

GOOD news for injury victim Davitt Walsh, who left the Showgrounds on Friday night in the back of an ambulance.

His checks at the hospital revealed no fracture, just a knock to the calf muscle area on the outside of his leg.

He was allowed to go home on crutches and with painkillers and will be assessed at training this week. It's one of those injuries where the length of time he is out will simply depend on how quick a healer he is but we're probably talking a couple of weeks rather than, say, several months as might have been first feared.

Walsh found himself on the recieving end of a tackle from Larne's Paul Hamilton on 70 minutes - leaving the on-loan striker wrything in agony.

United manager Tommy Wright told the Sunday Life; "Those sort of tackles are cowards tackles!"

Walsh has been in fine form since joining the Sky Blues on loan from Dublin side, Bohemians. He has struck an impressive 9 goals in only 13 appearances.
