O'NEILL OPERATION SUCCESS
(Monday, 5th November, 2007)

THE CLUB are pleased to report that Reserve team goalkeeper Sean O'Neill successfully came through an operation today to relieve the build-up of fluid on his brain.

The popular and highly rated 19-year-old had been complaining of migraine headaches and was admitted to hospital at the weekend whereupon his condition worsened.

Tommy Wright contacted ballymenaunitedfc.com this evening to relay the good news.

"Obviously it has been a worrying time for Sean and his family but we are delighted that he has come through the operation," he said.

"I've spoken to his mother who said that he underwent a two-hour operation but already she can see the difference in him. It is expected that he will make a full recovery."

O'Neill was voted the Reserve Team player of the Year last season by his team-mates, and made his first team debut in April against Loughgall.
