BALLYMENA United and Translink are delighted to announce that the Sky Blue Express is very much on track to carry its 4,000th passenger when it heads to the NIFL League Cup Final this Saturday, 17th February!
The 'NI Railways Special' will depart Ballymena Railway Station at 14:35 and will stop at Botanic, City Hospital and Adelaide (beside the National Stadium).
The return journey will leave Adelaide Station at 19:45 and will travel directly to Ballymena Station. If the game goes to extra time the sky blue express will depart Adelaide at 20:45.
Following the hugely successful partnership with Translink - this is the tenth Sky Blue Express and as such we are celebrating a tremendous milestone - the 13th person travelling on the train will in fact be the 4000th person to use this special service! To mark this achievement, the 13th person who comes to get a ticket will get their return travel for free and Ballymena United Football Club will also give that person a free ticket to Saturday's cup final.
Tickets will be available from Monday at 5pm from Ballymena Station. Return journey tickets are priced 8.70 adult, 4.30 for under 16 and over 60's are free with their Translink smartpass (please note that smartpass holders will still have to obtain a ticket this week prior to travel).
Rodney Ferris and Andy McQuilkin from Translink join United Assistant Manager Bryan McLoughlin, Club Director Nigel McIlrath and Chairman John Taggart to launch the Skyblue Express which will transport Ballymena United supporters to this years League cup final on Saturday 17th February
