BALLYMENA UNITED THIRDS 3-1 DONEGAL CELTIC YOUTH
(Saturday, 22nd October, 2011; Harry Cavan IFA Youth Cup Second Round)

MELVYN Logan's Thirds progressed into the next round of the Harry Cavan Youth Cup after a hard fought but deserved win against Donegal Celtic Youth.

The Sky Blues could have took the lead in the first minute when Neil Lowry put Leroy Millar through but the keeper made a good save.

From then on there wasn't many chances between both theams until Celtic took the lead 30 minutes into the match.

The home side worked hard to get into the match and it was Neil Lowry who put Ballymena back on level terms after good work from Conal Dooey down the right.

In the second half Ballymena United's youngsters dominated large parts of the game and were awarded a penalty but Neil Lowry had his effort saved.

Ballymena got their second goal when Leroy Millar (pictured) headed home form another Conal Dooey cross and Eoghan McIlhinney scored the third after good work in the box from Caolin Gillan.
