BALLYMENA UNITED RESERVES 1-3 GLENAVON RESERVES
(Wednesday, 7th December, 2011; IFA Reserve League 19)

BALLYMENA United Reserves lost to Glenavon Reserves at the Showgrounds despite taking the lead.

Ballymena started the game in good form keeping good possession and use the winger and fullbacks well.

It wasn't long until Corey Price (pictured) ran out from the back with the ball and laid it into midfielder Eoin Gillan who in turn played Price down the wing. Price done well beating his man and hitting an unstoppable shot past Davy O'Hare in the Glenavon goal in the 26th minute.

Ballymena were well on top coming up to the 38th minute and after a defensive blunder Glenavon got their equaliser after this the wee Sky Blues were under the cosh and Glenavon got their second in the 45th minute to finish the half on a high.

Neil Lowry and Jamie Davidson combined well to send Davidson in on goal but O'Hare saved well. This time it was Lowry's turn to be fed in on goal on the 65th minute and again O'Hare saved well.

United were pushing for the equaliser when they got caught on the break and the Glenavon striker made the score 3-1 and that's the way it ended.

Everyone at United would like to wish their reserves English midfielder John Rimmer all the best as he returns back home.

Ballymena United Reserves: Chris Bradley, John Rimmer, David Reid (sub Conor Ross 81), Joe Morgan, Corey Price, John McKee (sub Colin Moore 75), Eoin Gillan, Dermot McWilliams, Eoghan McElhinney (sub Patrick Deboys 66), Jamie Davidson, Neil Lowry. Sub (not used): Lee McGavock.
