BALLYMENA United Reserves are still searching for a first win in nine after a two goal defeat to Portadown Reserves at the Showgrounds.

Ballymena United Reserves started the game well and had two good chances inside the first ten minutes with the Portadown keeper saving well from Lowry and Costello.

After this it was all Portadown and they scored when a cross was driven a cross the six yard box which wasn't cleared and the Portadown striker Woolsey had a simple tap in in the 41st minute.

Straight after the restart Portadown scored a cracker of a goal which was scored from the edge of the box coming off the underside of the bar and in.

United tried hard to get back into it but Richard Clarke was controlling the game for the ports and united couldn't break through and this is the way it stayed.
