GLENTORAN II 0-0 BALLYMENA UNITED RESERVES
Tuesday, 25th September 2007; Carnegie Reserve League 2

DAVID Dorrian's Reserve side claimed a well earned point at the Oval on Tuesday night against Glentoran Seconds.

This Carnegie Reserve League fixture was originally scheduled for Saturday, however with Glentoran II taking on Wakehurst in the Steel and Sons Cup, the Braidmen agreed to bring the game forward.

The home side had a number of seasoned first-teamers on show with the likes of Elliott Morris, Rory Hamill, Tim McCann, Chris Morgan and Jason Hill on show.

However, that didn't faze this confident young team, as they stuck to their exciting brand of football.

Randal Reid (pictured) had the first chance, rounding the former Northern Ireland Under-21 goalkeeper, but firing over after doing the hard work.

Archie Stewart headed just wide the goal at his mercy and Reid again had a chance to win the game, but his goal was ruled offside.

A well earned league point for the Champions, who may feel they should have got all three.

United's Reserves have a free weekend this week, after elimination from the Steel and Sons Cup at the hands of Dromara Village three weeks ago.
