LINFIELD SWIFTS 2-2 BALLYMENA UNITED RESERVES
Saturday, 15th September 2007; George Wilson Cup

KEVIN Kelbie marked his return from injury with a brace against Linfield Swifts at Windsor Park today.

Leading scorer for the first team for the past two seasons, Kelbie's two goals could only earn the United Reserves a point in their George Wilson cup tie with Linfield Swifts.

This leaves the Sky Blues needing to win their remaining George Wilson Cup group game against Glenavon Reserves away, and also needing Linfield Swifts to drop points against the same opposition to qualify for the semi-finals.

United's second string were unlucky not to get the three points, as Kelbie rattled the post with a thunderous strike in what was an impressive performance.

Linfield scored from a corner and then got a penalty in the last ten minutes to equalise after a dubious handball decision from the referee was given against Gary Baird.

Midfielder, Daley Carnduff, was given a straight red card for his protests before Linfield scored their penalty.

So, David Dorrian's side must settle from for a point at Windsor Park - which is more than most teams will get from South Belfast this season.

Ballymena United Reserves: Sean O'Neill, Andrew Long (sub Ryan Deans 55 mins), Aaron Stewart, Johnny Flynn, Nigel Boyd, Daley Carnduff, Gary Baird, Aaron Holland (sub Jimmy Crawford 80 mins), Paul McNeill, Kevin Kelbie, Lee Colligan. Sub (not used): Lee McCaughren.
